Experiential learning

The optional co-op stream provides paid, full-time work terms, enabling students to apply academic knowledge in professional settings, build industry networks, and enhance employability. Candidates interested in the Co-op option must first be admitted into the Research Project (one year) program. You will have the opportunity to apply for co-op in your first term.

The MSc in Management (MGT) at Telfer supports career development through rigorous research training that strengthens analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills—key assets for roles in strategy, consulting, analytics, policy analysis, and management. Graduates pursue diverse career paths across the private, public, and healthcare sectors, including positions in project management, financial analysis, business development, and policy. The program also provides a solid foundation for those interested in continuing to PhD studies or pursuing research-focused careers within universities and other research organizations.

Many experiential learning opportunities are embedded in the MSc MGT curriculum:

  • Meet and network with experts from academic institutions, organizations, and government entities at our research seminar series.
  • Participate in thesis competitions and expand your network at internationally recognized conferences.
  • Expand your teaching and research skills with paid teaching or research assistant positions.
