Admission

Admission Criteria

A minimum of three years of full-time work experience is required. Part-time positions, summer jobs and co-op placements do not count towards this experience, but will be considered favourably when we assess your application. Preference will be given to applicants who have more work experience, particularly when there is demonstrated evidence of management responsibilities and career progression.

In some cases, applicants whose first language is not French will need to provide proof of proficiency in French. Find out more about accepted language proficiency tests.

Application Procedure

Prepare the following documents for your application:

  • Curriculum vitae (resumé) Outline your managerial and work experience, as well as any relevant volunteer work.
  • Letter of intent: Explain your reasons for pursuing a graduate program and how you would bring value to the program, given your education and work experience. Your letter must be at least 500 words long.
  • Admission test scores: Upload a copy of your TAGE MAGE or TCT test results and request that official results be made available to Telfer’s Graduate Studies Office.
  • Transcripts: Upload a copy of all transcripts from every post-secondary institution you have attended. Our office will request any transcripts from the University of Ottawa. We will require official transcripts after we make you an offer of admission.
  • Official language proficiency test scores: In certain cases only. Check whether you need to submit the results of a language proficiency test as part of your application.
  • Professional references: Provide contact information for at least two references in the uoZone portal. These individuals will receive an email from the University of Ottawa with a link to a recommendation form they will need to submit online.
