Accounting allows you to build a solid foundation in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, and taxation. You will learn to produce accurate financial statements as well as cover increasingly complex topics in accounting. As part of your program, you are able to take all the courses required to apply for Ontario’s Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or to be flexible and take a more general accounting stream.

The Honours BCom in Accounting is available in CO-OP and French immersion.

Accounting Option

If you are looking for a program with more flexibility, you may prefer the option in Accounting. This option allows you to learn about accounting while also choosing a second option, minor, or additional electives compared to the Specialization in Accounting.

Accounting Specialization

If you would like to pursue a career as a certified accountant, the specialization in Accounting will lead you on this path. The specialization is recognized by CPA Ontario as the equivalent to the PREP phase of the CPA accreditation by CPA Quebec as an academic prerequisite
