Winter admission pathway

The pathway

While Telfer School of Management students usually begin their BCom program in the fall, we understand that circumstances may lead you to prefer winter admission.  To support you, we offer the winter admission pathway. This program lets you start in January while still completing your degree alongside students who began in the fall, ensuring you can take full advantage of everything Telfer has to offer.

June Early Application Window for International Students

Are you an international applicant ready to begin your Bachelor of Commerce as soon as possible?

We understand that the admission process can feel lengthy for international applicants, particularly given the wait times associated with study permit processing. To better support students in this situation, we are introducing a new pilot project that enables eligible international applicants to submit their applications earlier for admission to the Winter 2027 term.

You may be eligible to apply as early as June 2026 for a January 2027 start date. If you qualify for this early application pathway, the typical $248 application fee will be waived.

To qualify, applicants must have already completed all program prerequisites. This means:

  • You cannot be currently enrolled in high school.
  • You cannot be completing prerequisite courses during the summer months.
  • You must have already graduated from high school or be currently studying at a college or university.

How to Apply

If you believe you meet these criteria, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by June 15th, 2026, with the subject line: “Early Winter 2027 Application to Telfer”

Attach the following documents:

  • All high school and postsecondary transcripts
  • A copy of your language test results (if required for admission)

Our team will review your documents to confirm your eligibility for early application. If you meet the requirements, you will receive an email detailing next steps.

  • Eligible applicants will receive an admission decision by mid-July.
    • While you wait for your decision, start gathering all documentation for your study permit application.
  • You will have 5 days to respond to your offer.
  • The $2,000 admission deposit will be due on October 1.
  • Once the deposit is paid, we will issue your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).
  • You can then start your study permit application.

By applying in this new window, you’ll have more time to:

  • Secure your study permit
  • Access university resources for immigration support
  • Arrange for housing, finances, and travel

You’ll join the same Telfer BCom program, faculty, and #TelferNation community with the added flexibility of a January start, and save on the application fee.
