Accounting
Accounting allows you to build a solid foundation in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, and taxation. You will learn to produce accurate financial statements and cover increasingly complex accounting topics. As part of your program, you can take all the courses required to apply for Ontario’s Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in the specialization, or simply gain knowledge in accounting in the option.
The Honours BCom in Accounting is available in CO-OP and French immersion.
Accounting Option
If you are looking for a program with more flexibility, you may prefer the option in Accounting. This option allows you to learn about accounting while also choosing a second option, minor, or additional electives compared to the Specialization in Accounting.
Accounting Specialization
If you would like to pursue a career as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), the specialization in Accounting will lead you on this path. The specialization is recognized by CPA Ontario as the equivalent to the prepatory phase of the CPA accreditation by CPA Ontario and CPA Quebec as an academic prerequisite for CPA Quebec.
