Telfer welcomes new Vice-Dean of Research

Bright conference room

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Silvia Bonaccio as Vice-Dean, Research for a three year term running July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2026.

On top of that, she was recently elected Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).

Silvia will be taking over from Shantanu Dutta. Under Shantanu’s leadership, Telfer’s research progress continued its momentum and achieved new heights, despite the challenges brought by the pandemic. For example, for the year 2020/2021, Telfer reached its highest level of research funding, and has had success rates that have been higher than national averages throughout his term. Shantanu championed the  creation of our new MSc project. During my very first meeting with him, he told me: “This will be very successful, I know it”. He was right! His hard work, collaborative approach, and belief in the program are now coming to fruition with a projected Fall 2023 enrolment that is beyond everyone’s expectations.

On behalf of the Telfer community, I would like to sincerely thank Shantanu for his contribution to the advancement of research at Telfer but also for the collegial and amicable culture that he brings to
everything he does.

I also sincerely thank Silvia for accepting to undertake this important role for the school. Her stellar research record combined with her experience in launching our doctorate program makes her particularly well equipped to take on this position. As part of her new role, Silvia’s responsibilities will include supporting and promoting the research of our diverse community of researchers to increase the school’s influence on the national and international scenes. I wish her much success in her new role!
