MBA Student Association
The MBA Student Association (MBASA) is a student organization designed to enrich the MBA student experience by advocating for and coordinating activities in the student interest. The MBASA’s purpose is to foster an academic, professional, and social experience of exceptional quality for its students. It also provides students with valuable information and services in academics, social activities, career services, and program administration.
The MBASA has achieved notable success in enhancing the student experience by organizing and raising funds for various academic and social events, including local and national case competitions, and speaker series events with various business owners and executives across Canada.
Vision
To assist in making the Telfer School of Management’s MBA program an academic, professional, and social experience of exceptional quality.
Mission
To provide MBA students with valuable information and services in the area of academics, social activities, career services and program administration.
Strategy
Creating a learning network of business and management experts including French and English MBA intensive and professional students, faculty, administration, other business schools and local employers.
Mandate and Functions

How to Join
Each year, the MBASA holds its annual election in August or September. All registered Telfer MBA students are eligible to participate in the election process. For more information on MBASA positions and the application process, please consult the MBASA Constitution or email
The MBASA holds at least two general assembly meetings each academic year – in the fall and summer semesters. During these meetings, students can voice their feedback and concerns directly to the MBASA Executive Team. Generally, the MBASA holds regular meetings between the Executive Team, and students are encouraged to contact the association via email at any time.
MBA Student Association Activities
The MBASA supports Telfer MBA students who want to attend local, national and international case competitions through financing and coaching opportunities. Students who wish to participate in a case competition can notify the association with the details of the event and the level of support needed.
The MBASA hosts regular in-person and virtual events with MBA and other students throughout the academic year. A few recent events include the virtual Halloween party, the virtual pub trivia night, and movember.
The MBASA hosts exclusive speaker series events throughout the academic year to enhance the student experience and offer insights from distinguished executives from the public and private sectors. The speaker series is designed to help students build connections and consider various career opportunities as they network with speakers and attendees. In 2021, the MBASA was awarded the Best Graduate Club award by Student Life for its noteworthy contribution and dedication to enhancing the student experience.
