Once you complete Management Foundations 1 and 2 you can select electives that suit your career aspirations or specialize in one of the four concentrations.*

If you choose to complete your MBA without a concentration, in addition to the compulsory courses, choose 12 units from any courses listed within the four concentrations.  Use the drop-down selector to view the electives in each concentration.

*Course offerings vary from year to year.

Capstone

The Capstone course, MBA 5390 (3 units), draws from everything that you have learned in your foundational courses. It focuses on integrating different types of strategy – corporate, competitive, and functional – to create a coherent plan for organizational success. You will participate in a team-based simulation where you apply a variety of analytical approaches to formulate a strategy for a large global company in a complex environment. In dynamic conditions, you will then react to different competitive moves and changing customer requirements under tight time constraints. In keeping with the program’s focus on responsible management for sustainability, the simulation will incorporate the PRME principles (Note that the Telfer School of Management is a proud signatory).

Optional internship

Put your knowledge and skills into practice right away. The optional internship (6 units), would normally be pursued over two terms, but could also be compressed into one.

Students who wish to take the additional internship option will declare that after completing their first term in the program. They will be informed about the process and eligibility criteria during that term.
