Jason Anbara: One Year After Forty Under 40 – Investing Back Where It Truly Matters
A year after being named to Ottawa’s Forty Under 40, Jason Anbara, Telfer BCom ‘09, hasn’t just grown his real estate portfolio — he has doubled down on what matters most to him: his community.
The Forty Under 40 award, which recognized his rapid rise as a mortgage broker and entrepreneur, quickly become more than a professional milestone – it became a call to action. For Jason, the honour was a powerful reminder to extend the impact he brings to his business into the heart of the community he serves. “I’ve always believed that a business is only as strong as the community it serves,” he says. “And when you’re in a position to give back, you don’t wait — you step up.”
Telfer Alumni Leading Through Community Engagement

Since 2024, Jason has expanded his real estate holdings to nearly 400 rental units, while scaling his mortgage operations across Ottawa and Gatineau. Yet his greatest pride lies in his boots-on-the-ground engagement with the community. This community commitment is a hallmark of his approach, reflecting values that were reinforced during his time at Telfer School of Management, where leadership and social responsibility were integral to his education.
In just the past year, he has contributed over $50,000 in direct support to local initiatives: sports teams, schools, churches, festivals, and regional causes like CHEO, the Bruyère Foundation, and the Ottawa Food Bank. His contributions span regions like Aylmer, Gatineau, Nepean, and downtown Ottawa – areas where he actively invests in both people and places. Whether funding youth sports equipment or supporting essential health services, Jason’s commitment togiving back isn’t a one-off gesture — it’s part of his entrepreneurial mission.
A Personal Connection to CHEO and Ongoing Community Impact
As a father of two, his connection to CHEO is especially personal. Beyond his financial contributions, Jason is deeply involved in raising awareness and mobilizing support for the hospital. He actively organizes events and amplifies CHEO’s mission in both professional networks and social circles.
This kind of involvement brings real meaning to accolades like Forty Under 40 or Alternative Broker Specialist of the Year. These recognitions aren’t endpoints — they’re launching pads to do more, go further, and create impact that goes well beyond the financial sector.
On both sides of the river, Jason is opening doors where others see walls.
In 2025, he was also appointed to the Board of Directors for the Bruyère Hospital Foundation, a key institution serving vulnerable populations across the region. This commitment reflects both his dedication to community health and his growing role as an engaged civic leader.
“Bruyère plays a vital role in the continuum of care — from rehabilitation to palliative services. Being part of that board is a way to support the people who change lives every day.”
Rooted in Community and Committed to Growth
Living in the Aylmer sector of Gatineau, Jason remains closely connected to the Lebanese community, actively supporting mentorship, entrepreneurship, and youth projects. He’s also a strong supporter of Aylmer’s sports leagues, convinced that physical activity is a powerful lever to build confidence, teamwork, and leadership in young people.
“Sports shaped me. That’s where kids learn discipline, team spirit, and a sense of belonging. I want others to have access to that same foundation.”
Even as CEO of Northlend Financial and founder of several thriving businesses — from home renovation to real estate investment — Jason remains grounded in a simple belief: success is measured by the difference you make in people’s lives.
Moving Beyond Recognition: Delivering on the Promise
A year after being named to Forty Under 40, the goal is no longer to be recognized — but to show up and deliver. Whether through sponsorships, board leadership, or direct community involvement, Jason continues to do what he’s always done: open doors where others say no.
When banks say no, we say yes.
With access to over 85 lenders, trilingual service in French, English, and Arabic, and licensing in both Ontario and Quebec, Jason Anbara ensures that every client — regardless of background — has a real shot at securing their mortgage and building the future they deserve.
And as he puts it: “This is the part of the job that really matters.”
A Telfer Alumnus Leading with Purpose
Jason's journey is a testament to the strength of the Telfer community and the power of education in fostering not only business acumen but also a deep commitment to social responsibility. As a proud Telfer alumnus, Jason continues to embody the values instilled during his time at the school: leadership, innovation, and a dedication to making a positive impact. His story inspires future generations of Telfer graduates to think beyond their professional successes and consider the lasting impact they can make on their communities.
