Greg Richards Co-Chaired International Conference on Big Data and Analytics Curricula
IBM, Syracuse University School of Information Studies, and the University of Ottawa Telfer School of Management collaborated earlier this month to deliver a very successful international conference exploring the challenges related to delivering big data and analytics education. The Big Data & Analytics EdCon 2013 (Nov. 2-3 in Las Vegas) was co-chaired by Greg Richards, professor of performance management at the Telfer School of Management and Professor Susan Dischiave of the School of Information Studies, Syracuse University.
The focus for this conference was the potential of big data and data analytics to transform business and academia and to outline projects and plans for curricula. There were 53 representatives from leading educational organizations and universities in the U.S., Canada, China, France, Israel, Norway, the United Kingdom among other countries.
Greg Richards is Director of the IBM Centre for Business Analytics and Performance, which brings together Canadian and international researchers, academics and industry to provide leadership in curriculum development and research in business analytics and performance.
