The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) granted $25,000 to Professor Daniel Lane, through the Strategic Workshops Program – Healthy Ecosystems and Environment.

Professor Lane will use this grant to organize and facilitate a strategic workshop entitled Fisheries Strategic Workshop for Developing R&D Partnerships to build new collaborations between Canadian academics and government fisheries scientists with he independent, owner-operator fishing sector, the dominant sector of the Canadian capture fishery. These collaborations will lead to industry-driven research proposals that will directly contribute to the knowledge and innovation needs of the fishing industry.
