Biography
Dr. Caro has a career total of over 200 publications, including international peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. His research interests include emergency management systems, intelligence system architectures and thought leadership. Aside from over 35 years of academic experience in Canada and the United States, he has management systems experiences in burn, cancer, cardiac and trauma care systems and emergency management systems. He was the recipient of the MDS International Prize for the Study of Public/Private Partnerships in 2001 for his work in Strategic Partnerships between Leading IT Organizations and the Health Care Sector: Best Practices in Sweden, Germany and Canada.
The Love of Teaching and Students
Also renowned for his outstanding educator par excellence teaching skills, Dr. Caro was awarded the University of Ottawa Excellence in Teaching Award in 2000 as well as many other awards in health management teaching. He was the MHA Program Director from 1988 to 1992. He is currently the Academic Coop Co-ordinator for the Telfer School. Originally from Germany, he is a proud Canadian who brings his extensive management and consulting and international experiences in over 100 organizations into pedagogical settings to ignite his students.

Aside from over 35 years of academic experience in Canada and the United States, Dr. Caro is a Certified Health Executive (C.H.E.) with the Canadian College of Health Service Executives is a member of the Honourary Beta Gamma Sigma Society of the AACSB-International, and is an alumnus of McGill University, the Université de Montréal and the University of Minnesota in the fields of mathematics, management information systems and hospital and health care administration. Despite a purported surgically-sharp and oblique sense of humour, Dr. Caro leads a very simple life and admits to being a man of faith and prayer.
