Choose a mode of attendance that suits your schedule

Option
1

In person

Join your professors and peers in person at our Centre for Executive Leadership facility in Ottawa’s downtown business district. Meals and other meeting amenities are provided throughout the day so you can focus on your coursework.

Option
2

Online

For those participating from abroad or prefer an online learning experience, attend classes in real-time using our virtual platform. Hear the lecture, participate in discussions, and chat with your peers from a location that works for you. You will be required to join your full cohort in person during your two mandatory international trips.

Option
3

Hybrid*

Benefit from the flexibility to combine in-person and online classroom formats based on your availability and preferences. In fact, many of our candidates choose this option in order to balance their schedule and maximize their learning experience.

*You are required to travel, joining your full cohort in person during your two mandatory international trips.

Earn your Executive MBA without losing momentum in your career

There’s no sugar-coating it: doing an Executive MBA is demanding, but you can’t afford to put your career on hold. Our program allows you to manage your studies and your regular workload without interrupting your office or home life for weeks at a time.

In addition to class sessions and two business trips, you can expect to spend on average 12 hours per week on course preparation, assignments and team meetings. We provide dates for your full 20-month class schedule, trips, and additional mandatory sessions well in advance, so you can balance your personal and professional commitments with your program commitments.

A practical way to learn

Classes are held weekly on alternating Fridays and Saturdays

Booking days or weeks off at a time is difficult both for the continuity of your career and the impact on your learning. Our schedule allows you to learn key concepts at a steady pace throughout the term while minimizing your time out of the office. This gives you the opportunity to practice in the workplace between classes, reflect on outcomes, and then return to the classroom to examine your experience and learn from it.

We make time for you to reflect and recharge with a two-month, class free preparation period in the summer between your first and second year. Learn more about our approach to work-life balance.

On-the-ground experience

Two separate, week-long international business consulting trips

Your cohort convenes in person during the two mandatory international trips and actively participate in activities together through these immersive components of the program. Your trips take place at the end of each Winter term.

Learn in Ottawa

With its English and French bilingualism, access to nature, vibrant culture and entertainment, and position at the intersection of Canada’s political and economic decision-making, the City of Ottawa is brimming with opportunities. Recognized as Canada’s most educated city, Ottawa is home to a wide variety of thriving industries including technology, healthcare, government, and non-profit. Also, with its many diverse communities, Ottawa is a multicultural city that welcomes an ever-growing population from all over the world.

Travel from Toronto, Montreal and Eastern Ontario

Ottawa is very accessible to candidates from nearby areas who wish to attend classes in person. There are many options for making your stay in Ottawa easy and affordable, such as securing student passes for train travel or negotiating a special rate for frequent stays at the same hotel. Contact our admissions team to learn more about what’s possible and how other Executive MBA candidates have made it work.
