A few details about me

My favourite quote: “One day or day one. You decide.” Paulo Coelho

My favourite subject at university

Corporate Finance (ADM 3350/3750). This course explores key concepts such as investing when under uncertainty, capital structure, dividends, derivatives, and so on. This course is essential for anyone studying finance. This course will give you an in-depth understanding of corporate finance principles and prepare you to meet the complex financial challenges of the business world.

What thrills me about Telfer

The strong sense of community. The collaborative atmosphere and mutual support between everyone: student body, faculty, and staff create an environment conducive to learning and personal growth. It’s a unique experience that makes every day at Telfer special.

My advice to incoming students

Get involved as much as possible and say “yes” to the opportunities available to you. By actively participating in clubs, attending events, and joining projects, you’ll not only expand your network and skills but also create treasured memories and meaningful relationships. Make the most of your time at university by exploring every opportunity.

A few more personal questions

My proudest personal, academic, or professional achievement

What I’m most proud of is having created, at the age of 17, The African Entrepreneurs Club (TAEC), a network bringing together people who are passionate about entrepreneurship and Africa, with the aim of having a positive impact on African youth. Within TAEC, we have successfully organized a series of events, training courses, and interviews with successful personalities. The result? A platform of inspiration and development for African youth. I was also honored to receive the McKinsey Canada Leadership Award in recognition of this commitment.

My greatest source of inspiration

My parents, who invested in me by sending me here to study. Their unwavering support and belief in my abilities have been a constant source of motivation for me. They have sacrificed a lot to give me this opportunity, and that has pushed me to work hard and do my best to succeed.

My biggest challenge so far

Traveling all the way out here on my own to pursue my studies, far from my family, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was able to do this by strictly following safety measures, staying in touch with my family online, and relying on the local student community to make new friends.
