Telfer Launches 2023 MBA Diversity and Inclusion Case Challenge with Knowledge-Packed Event
On November 19, the Telfer School of Management hosted a virtual event to launch the 2022–2023 D&I Case Challenge with our partners EDC and Deloitte. For the last 6 years, we have been committed to creating a competition - and stimulating a conversation - about Diversity and Inclusion. This year, we’re taking the conversation to the next level by challenging participants to reimagine how businesses can address global problems for a more sustainable future. Our topic? Diversity, inclusion and climate change.
Addressing Diversity, Inclusion and Climate Change Holistically
Our 2022–23 Case Challenge prompts students to create new business models that address both diversity and inclusion, and climate change. We know that these topics are intimately linked and need to be addressed holistically. Today’s successful business leaders must combine critical business skills with a good understanding of climate science and value-driven community action.
To give our participants a head start, we’ve offered three informative lectures by keynote speakers with extensive experience in these areas.
Elizabeth Mengesha and Shila Salim Ukumbini from the Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) shared their insights and experience on developing communities for sustainability in the middle east.
Climate scientist Dr. Sonia Wesche shared research findings on the impact of climate change on people in the Canadian north.
Students also got to discuss the intersection of diversity and inclusion and climate change in guided breakout rooms, and were encouraged to provide their feedback on the competition theme and design.
By participating in the seventh annual Telfer D&I Case Challenge, you’ll have the chance to address significant and complex global challenges. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to change the world. Register for the case challenge.
