Security plays a critical role in protecting an organization’s assets, information and resources from various threats. Leaders in organizational security oversee security programs and the comprehensive set of strategies, policies, procedures and technologies necessary to protect assets and human resources from perceived or known risks and threats.
Security Leadership for Chief Security Officers is designed to empower newly appointed Chief Security Officers (CSOs), Deputy CSOs and senior security leaders in the Government of Canada with the tools, strategies, and knowledge they need to excel in their roles. This program emphasizes the unique context and challenges facing organizational-level security management, providing participants with:
- An overview of Canada’s security and intelligence community and current threat environment;
- An understanding of how to interpret and leverage threat and risk assessment in decision-making; and
- Leadership skills to sustain effective teams and collaboration with partners, including in emergency management situations.
Designed in partnership with the Privy Council Office – Security Centre of Excellence (SCoE), this highly interactive program combines peer exchanges, hands-on learning, and organizational site visits to prepare participants for the complexities of modern organizational security leadership.
