Canada’s Capital Region - The National Capital Commission (NCC) is pleased to announce that one of its own, Guy Laflamme, Senior Vice-President, Capital Experience, Communications and Marketing for the NCC, has accepted an invitation to become a member of the Board of Directors for the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA). With this prestigious appointment, Mr. Laflamme becomes the only Canadian representative on the IFEA Board.
“This is an opportunity to showcase the experience, knowledge, creativity and best practices gained by our premiere Canadian celebrations in the Capital and across the country,” said Mr. Laflamme. “I look forward to sharing and exchanging ideas with the international festival and events community, and welcome the chance to give a Canadian perspective and imprint to events on the international scene.”
Mr. Laflamme has had a distinguished career spanning over two decades with the NCC, where he continues to be responsible for the planning and implementation of national events such as Canada Day and Winterlude, as well as commemorations, interpretation, and public art in the Capital. The NCC would like to extend its congratulations to Mr. Laflamme as he takes on this additional new role with the IFEA.
