The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa is pleased to announce that it will create student scholarships and a fellowship award thanks to a $25,000 donation from CMA Ontario. The donation will assist undergraduate and MBA students, as well as support teaching and research in the 2010-11 academic year.
CMA will become the first professional certification association to offer direct support to a faculty member at the Telfer School of Management by awarding a $7,500 CMA Fellowship, recognizing excellence in teaching and research. The CMA Accounting Fellow will hold a CMA designation and serve as a direct point of contact for students and the academic community.
CMA will also award two $5,000 MBA scholarships to exceptional students with a background in accounting, and an intention to pursue a CMA designation. Additionally, a $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to an exceptional undergraduate student entering their 4th and final year of the Telfer Bachelor of Commerce Accounting program.
Finally, a $2,500 MBA award will be created to highlight the achievements of a student with a background in accounting, who has demonstrated high performance in the MBA Program and who intends to pursue the CMA designation.
