You couldn’t have asked for a better day. The sun was shining, music was playing, and all the players, volunteers, and supporters were smiling, as CHEO BBQ added another successful year to their now 20 year history. Amongst all the fun, CASCO, a student- run organization comprised primarily of Telfer School of Management students from the University of Ottawa were playing and volunteering to contribute to the well-being of our community. Striving to create an even greater presence in the Ottawa region, CASCO sent two volleyball teams and many volunteers on Saturday, June 11, 2011, in effort to promote student social responsibility and provide support to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). Blessed with a beautiful day and a great group of students, CASCO represented the Telfer School very well, receiving many comments on positive team spirit and awesome team jerseys. From a participant’s standpoint, CHEO BBQ was extremely well organized and a lot of fun, an initiative CASCO will definitely participate in for the years to come.
