This position includes the Power Corporation of Canada - Paul Desmarais Professorship of Finance with a stipend and research protected time. This Professorship is named after the Honourable Paul G. Desmarais, a University of Ottawa alumnus and one of Canada’s most distinguished corporate leaders.

The Telfer School of Management invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professorcommencing on September 1, 2023, or earlier.
Title of Position: Replacement Professor at the rank of Assistant Professor in any one of the following areas: Entrepreneurship & Innovation; Business Analytics & Information Systems; Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources; Accounting. The incumbent will teach courses primarily in French.
Terms: Non-Tenure-track position for a two-year term.
Duties of the faculty member will mainly include teaching, course coordination, and leading experiential learning activities at Telfer. The faculty member will also help with alignment of course curriculum with various accreditation and certification initiatives such as PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education), CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional), BTMAC (Business Technology Management Accreditation Council) and CPA (Chartered Professional Accountancy). a) Teaching activities:
Coordinate and teach foundational (1st and 2nd year) and advanced (3rd and 4th year) courses in the undergraduate BCom program, and in the MBA program.
Coordinate and deliver experiential learning activities in the undergraduate program. Such activities may include live case competitions, simulations, international projects, and guest speakers.
Contribute to the integration of requirements of various accreditation bodies in course curriculum.
b) Research activities:
Regularly engage in pedagogical research projects and contribute to scholarship of teaching and learning.
Serve as a primary lead on experiential learning initiatives at the school and use this experience to contribute to scholarship of teaching and learning.
c) Academic service activities:
The candidate will be an active member of the faculty section that closely aligns with their area of expertise. Administrative duties such as committee memberships, student mentoring and coaching etc. will be agreed upon with the section and the Vice-Dean, Undergraduate Programs.

The Telfer School of Management invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics and Analytics at the rank of Assistant Professorcommencing on September 1, 2023, or earlier.
Title of Position: Replacement Professor in Mathematics and Analytics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The incumbent will teach courses primarily in French.
Terms: Non-Tenure-track position for a two-year term.
The faculty member’s teaching load will include ADM 1305/1705 – our introductory mathematics courses. Duties of the faculty member will mainly include teaching, course coordination, and developing learning activities focused on mathematical and quantitative applications to management.
Teaching activities:
Coordinate and teach the introductory mathematics courses: ADM 1305/1705 as well as additional core or elective analytics courses.
Help support and update the content and learning objectives of 1305/1705 based on the curricular needs of the core and options of the BCom.
Research activities:
Regularly engage in pedagogical research projects and contribute to scholarship of teaching and learning.
Bring pedagogical innovations in mathematics to the classrooms.
Academic service activities:
The candidate will be an active member of the Business Analytics and Information Systems (BAIS) section. Administrative duties will be agreed upon with the section and the Vice-Dean, Undergraduate Programs.
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following:
Experience in teaching introductory university mathematics to first-year students.
Ability to teach more advanced mathematics courses in forecasting, simulation, and optimization.
Industry experience that can provide real-world applications in the classroom.
Education: Ph.D. in mathematical education (preferred), Management, mathematics, or engineering, with a specialization directly related to mathematical or quantitative modeling and their applications.
Language: Bilingual (French and English). The faculty member will teach primarily in French (at least 70%).
Work experience: Should be familiar with applications of quantitative approaches to management and pertinent teaching experience in mathematics or analytics.
