Using Management Research for a Better Canada (and World)
Distinguished Speakers Series in Thriving Organizations and Societies
The desire to have an impact on different stakeholders, including researchers, students and society at large, is an aspiration of most academics — a sort of search for the “Holy Grail.” But what is scholarly impact? How should we measure it? How can we increase the impact of our research and teaching activities? How can we produce relevant research?
Our Distinguished Speaker, Professor Herman Aguinis, will address these questions in his talk by describing management theory and research that help us understand relevance and impact — and how to improve both. The presentation will be of interest to researchers and educators aiming to increase the impact of their work. It will also be of interest to organizational leaders, decision-makers and practitioners interested in learning how to leverage academic research to create better, more evidence-informed workplaces and a Better Canada for all.
