Better and Stronger Men as Allies Panel Discussion
uOttawa's International Womxn's Week in partnership with Invest Ottawa
On this International Womxn’s Week, let’s explore how “Better Together” can drive towards a more diverse and inclusive society. We often come across examples of women supporting women throughout their careers, but having the same support from our men as allies is also very powerful in creating and promoting opportunities for women. uOttawa Women in Innovation is hosting a panel discussion “Better and Stronger Men as Allies” on International Women’s Day, March 8th, 2021. Join us to hear, from inspirational role models, their point of view on the subject, and explore how to identify and forge relationships with male allies and create concrete change along the way.
Why 'Womxn'
The word “womxn” is an alternative term to the English language word “women.” We use this term to explicitly include those who identify as women, transgender women, women of colour and non-binary individuals. This choice supports our concerted effort to create a culture of belonging.
Invest Ottawa and the University of Ottawa
On March 8, the world celebrates International Women’s Day. This year from March 1 – 9, Invest Ottawa with its partners will run the 3rd Annual International Womxn’s Week (IWW) with a shared goal - to inspire, equip and empower womxn professionally. It will take all of us working together to expedite change. That is why the University of Ottawa is partnering with Invest Ottawa to bring nine jam-packed days of virtual events to you.
