Roland Paris is the director of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Ottawa and a former senior advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada. He completed his Ph.D. at Yale University and began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado before returning to Canada in 2003. His research on global politics has been widely published and has won several international prizes, and he has also taken several academic leaves to serve as a policy advisor in the Canadian government. He has also held visiting appointments at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC, and at the Institut d'études politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris.
