Rengong (Alex) Zhang, PhD

In this lunch seminar, Prof. Alex Zhang will share his research journey focused on utilizing big data to examine issues related to workplace safety, labor, and the capital markets. He will discuss his experiences with AI tools in addressing ESG research in the context of the capital market. Additionally, he will present two of his latest research papers: one explores how environmental regulations can negatively impact workplace safety, highlighting the potential conflict between the "E" and "S" components of firms’ ESG efforts; the other investigates workplace fatalities in emerging markets.
