In this session students will learn about the importance of citing sources properly as part of their academic integrity as graduate students, get a refresher on the essential elements of APA style, and see how using a citation manager like Zotero can streamline adding in-text citations to a research paper and creating a bibliography.

By the end of this workshop, students can expect to be able to:

  • Understand the importance of properly citing sources as part of academic integrity
  • Differentiate between paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting source material
  • Identify the basic elements of an APA citation and know how to format citations correctly

Describe the key features of citation management software and recognize its value as a tool for academic writing and research

The session will be presented by Emily Da Silva, a Research Librarian at the Telfer Management Library.
