Biographie

Wenxia Ge possède une maîtrise en comptabilité de l’Université de Xiamen, en Chine, et un doctorat de l’Université McGill. Elle a travaillé à la China Construction Bank de Shanghai, d’abord comme comptable, puis comme auditrice interne, avant d’entreprendre une carrière universitaire. Elle s’est jointe à l'École Telfer après avoir occupé un poste de professeure agrégée à l’Université du Manitoba.

Rédactrice en chef adjointe de la revue Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting & Economics, la professeure Ge est aussi membre des comités de rédaction des revues Advances in Accounting et Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation. Elle a également agi à titre de relectrice pour bon nombre de publications prestigieuses ainsi que pour des organismes subventionnaires.

Le projet de recherche sur lequel elle travaille actuellement porte sur la qualité des audits, la communication des risques liés aux changements climatiques, la qualité des rapports financiers, le financement par emprunt et la gouvernance d’entreprise. Ses travaux de recherche ont été publiés ou acceptés pour publication dans des revues à comité de lecture comme les suivantes : Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, European Accounting Review, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance et Journal of International Business Studies.

Ses recherches lui ont valu une subvention de développement Savoir du CRSH, une subvention de recherche CPA Canada-ACPC, plusieurs subventions de recherche de l’Université du Manitoba, une bourse de recherche de CPA Manitoba, un prix d’excellence en recherche à titre de professeure agrégée, un prix Re-Action de l’École de gestion Asper, ainsi que deux prix d’excellence pour son travail de relectrice : un de la section internationale de comptabilité de l’American Accounting Association et un de la revue Asian Review of Accounting (Emerald Literati).
