Biographie
Hien Tran est professeure agrégée en stratégie et en entrepreneuriat à l’École de l’École de gestion Telfer. Auteure prolifique, elle a publié plusieurs articles sur l’entrepreneuriat, la gestion et l’économie industrielle dans de prestigieuses revues comme le Journal of Business Venturing, Industrial and Corporate Change, Corporate Governance: An International Review et Small Business Economics. Elle était auparavant chargée de cours à l’Université RMIT (Australie) et chargée d’enseignement à l’Université Edge Hill (Royaume-Uni), où elle donnait et coordonnait divers cours de gestion et d’entrepreneuriat. Ses deux années de recherches postdoctorales au Département d’économie de l’Université de Bologne (Italie) et ses quatre années de recherche doctorales à l’École des sciences sociales de l’Université de Trento (Italie) lui ont permis d’acquérir de vastes connaissances théoriques de l’économie et de la gestion ainsi qu’une grande maîtrise de l’analyse empirique des stratégies, des marchés et des secteurs industriels. D’un point de vue pratique, elle a participé à plusieurs projets internationaux (parrainés par Nuffic et la JICA) s’intéressant à la formation des femmes entrepreneures et gestionnaires de PME et au développement des capacités de recherche des universités dans les pays en développement.
En ce moment, elle étudie les facteurs d’innovation et d’entrepreneuriat dans les pays en transition ainsi que l’influence des externalités de connaissances sur les échanges commerciaux entre les marchés développés et les marchés en émergence.
