Biographie
Christopher Sun est professeur adjoint à l’École de gestion Telfer de l’Université d’Ottawa et scientifique à l’Institut de cardiologie de l’Université d’Ottawa. Ses champs de recherche se situent à l’intersection de l’optimisation, de l’intelligence artificielle, de la santé publique et de l’équité en santé. Ses travaux portent principalement sur l’utilisation de l’optimisation par les données, de l’apprentissage machine et des techniques de simulation pour éclairer la conception des systèmes de santé et l’élaboration de politiques de santé publique. Il a collaboré avec de nombreux instituts de santé, dont l’Hôpital général du Massachusetts (Boston, É.-U.), les Services médicaux d’urgence de Boston (Boston, É.-U.), les Services médicaux d’urgence nationaux d’Israël (Magen David Adom, Israël), l’Hôpital St. Michael’s (Toronto, Canada) et l’Hôpital Gentofte (Copenhague, Danemark). Il détient un baccalauréat en sciences du génie avec spécialisation en génie biomédical ainsi qu’un doctorat en génie industriel de l’Université de Toronto. Il a également été chercheur boursier de niveau postdoctoral et professeur adjoint invité à l’École de gestion Sloan du Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Le professeur Sun a publié dans des revues éminentes comme le Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, Health Affairs et le Journal of the American Medical Directors Association. Titulaire d’une Bourse d’études supérieures du Canada Vanier des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada et du Prix du jeune chercheur de l’American Heart Association, il a par ailleurs été nommé au palmarès 2021 des 40 figures héroïques de moins de 40 ans de la Citizen CPR Foundation. Ses recherches ont été mentionnées dans le New York Times, le Globe and Mail/em>, le Toronto Star, le Huffington Post, à CTV et par Reuters.
