Biographie

Rafid Mahmood est professeur adjoint en finance à l’École de gestion Telfer de l’Université d’Ottawa. Chercheur au laboratoire d’intelligence artificielle de NVIDIA à Toronto de 2020-2022, il a aussi effectué des recherches postdoctorales à l’Institut Vecteur pour l’intelligence artificielle de 2019 à 2021. Il détient un baccalauréat et une maîtrise en sciences appliquées avec spécialisation en génie électrique de l’Université de Toronto, de même qu’un doctorat en génie industriel du même établissement.

Intérêts de recherche

Les recherches du professeur Mahmood s’articulent autour de deux grands axes : la création de modèles prédictifs et prescriptifs pour automatiser la prise de décisions, et la gestion de l’approvisionnement en données nécessaire pour les opérationnaliser. Ses travaux portent tout spécialement sur l’application de ces modèles dans le milieu de la santé et les systèmes d’intelligence artificielle à grande échelle, comme pour l’industrie des véhicules autonomes et l’IA générative. Il a publié des articles dans des revues de recherche opérationnelle (Operations Research, Management Science, M&SOM) et présenté les résultats de ses recherches lors de conférences (ICLR, NeurIPS, CVPR).
