Jeremy Klein was born and raised in Ottawa and earned a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 1997 and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2003. Jeremy began his career in Toronto before joining Salomon Smith Barney, the investment banking arm of Citigroup in New York, as a quantitative equity analyst. Jeremy later moved to Switzerland, where he spent 8 years at the Swiss branch of AXA, becoming the head of asset allocation and leading a team of four investment professionals who were responsible for the day-to-day management of an asset pool worth more than 100 billion Canadian dollars. In 2014, Jeremy returned with his family to Ottawa to manage his family’s assets. Since his return, Jeremy has also been a portfolio manager for a mutual fund, managed the Green Municipal Fund’s endowment and most recently was a Director of Investments at the University of Ottawa. Jeremy looks forward to working with faculty and students to bring institutional best practices to the Telfer Capital Fund.
