Getting to know Othmane

My favourite subjects at university:
A: Business Communication Skills. Business communication skills are a crucial skill in the professional world. It encompasses various aspects, such as written communication, oral presentation, negotiation, and conflict management, which are crucial in many careers.

The reason why I choose Telfer:
A: As a student, I selected Telfer for several strategic reasons. Having completed my high school education in French, I deliberately chose Ottawa to immerse myself in a bilingual environment, thus fostering my learning of English as a third language. Furthermore, Telfer enjoys an excellent reputation, which guarantees a stellar education. In addition, the School offers valuable complementary services, such as a Career Centre. The latter is essential for effectively guiding students’ career journeys.

What drives me at Telfer:
A: What drives me at Telfer is its rich and diverse environment. It allows me to interact with a wide range of people and explore different cultures along the way.

My advice to new members of the great Telfer family:
A: Be curious and don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it. At Telfer, lots of people around you are willing to help you and answer your questions. This helps create a supportive learning and working environment.

Digging deeper

Q: What personal, academic or professional achievement are you most proud of?
A: One of my most gratifying professional accomplishments as an international student in Canada was gaining experience directly related to my fields of study throughout my bachelor’s degree. This experience enabled me not only to apply my knowledge in a real-life context, but also to reinforce my understanding of the concepts and skills developed in the classroom.

Q: Who is your greatest source of inspiration or motivation?
A: My father. He has always been a precious mentor and has given me invaluable advice that has shaped both my journey as a student and my personal life.

Wrapping up

Tell us about a life experience that transformed you:
A: Starting university has profoundly transformed the way I perceive many aspects of life. I’m convinced that this transformation continues throughout our studies.
