Thinking back to when you were a child, what role or occupation did you dream to do when you grew up?
Both my parents held PhDs and had academic careers and I grew up in a liberal environment which fostered learning and independent thinking. Since I was a small child, I knew that my path would lead towards a profession in science, such as chemistry or physics. I have never doubted that life-long learning and self-improvement were at my core. After twelve years of working as a radiologist, it is this drive which has brought me to the doorstep of the Telfer Executive MBA program.
There are many projects and learning opportunities in the program. What are you looking forward to completing while in the Telfer Executive MBA Program?
When asked about the Telfer Executive MBA program, alumni of this program unanimously confirm that it is a life changing experience, more than they could ever have anticipated. Beyond learning about the management and structure of organizations and companies, the approach to human resources, finance and marketing, I am looking forward to learning about my own strengths and weaknesses as a team player and a leader. I hope that my colleagues in this cohort will work together and help each other to explore, define and improve our potential and talents.
What do you admire in a leader or mentor? Do you have someone who you consider a strong mentor or leader within your life?
I believe that a true leader must strive to achieve and maintain balance in all aspects of his/her life. The success and performance of one’s professional existence must not outweigh the inviolability of one’s family time, the unexpected upsets in one’s life cannot be allowed to influence one’s interactions with others, and intellectual endeavors always come easier when one takes the time to improve physical health. I am fortunate to be married to such a leader, who brings out the best in me every day, a dedicated mother to our children and a highly competent professional. Together as a team, we create harmony and trust, which we bring to work and which our children can build on.
