What was your favourite movie growing up? What put it above the other movies you have seen?

I have two favourite films - There Will Be Blood and Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). They are both dark movies with plots centered on egomaniacal protagonists. The protagonists, at first, are admirable for their focus and unwavering dedication to their crafts. However, the end of the films leaves the audience to pity the characters’ self-imposed seclusion resultant from a life of impulse. Questions of morality and sanity are left hanging in the air as the credits roll.  Additionally, complex scores by Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) and Antonio Sánchez make these movies worth watching more than once.

There are many options to consider when looking at higher-education programs. Why did you choose the Telfer Executive MBA?

The Telfer Executive MBA appeals to me because of its practical approach and global reach.

The curriculum teaches the core functions and disciplines of management and requires candidates to apply those skills in the global market to develop solutions for real business challenges. Telfer`s goal is to push the candidate outside of their “comfort zone” while providing the support and resources to be successful.

Finally, the Telfer Executive MBA 2018-20 cohort is a diverse group of extraordinary individuals. The same goes for the Telfer Executive MBA staff and faculty. I look forward to building a valuable network by developing relationships with my fellow candidates, staff, faculty and everyone affiliated with this program.

What do you admire in a leader or mentor? Do you have someone who you consider a strong mentor or leader within your life?

I have been fortunate to have many mentors in my life. It would be amiss not describe the impact my family members have had on me. I aspire to emulate their best qualities. My wife is the most incredible, reliable, best friend that I could ask to have in my life. My brother taught me spirit. My mother taught me caring and forgiveness. My father taught me patience and persistence. Together, Mom and Dad showed me strength and courage.
