Didier, what was your favourite movie growing up? What made it stand above the other movies for you?
My favorite movie of all time has been “COACH CARTER”, and what put it above the other movies I have seen so far is the fact that I have learned the importance of teamwork, discipline and respect for myself and others. As for Carter, this was not about a winning season; it was about a winning life. There is a direct correlation between the movie and my pursuit of the Telfer Executive MBA. It is not just acquiring or “winning” another diploma, but a winning in life.
Choosing to complete an Executive MBA is a big consideration. After reviewing the various masters’ programs available, why did you choose to enroll in the Telfer Executive MBA Program?
I have understood that “leadership and learning are indispensable to each other,” as stated by John F. Kennedy. I also believe that “learning never exhausts the mind” as stated by Leonardo da Vinci. I believe that in order to continue developing my leadership skills, the Telfer Executive MBA is the right choice for me. I hope that the knowledge and experience gained through this program will help me understand the business world in all the dimensions, gain experience in managing challenges with greater complexities and larger in scope. This will allow me in becoming an even better leader and making a difference in the world.
Is there any not-for-profit organizations or clubs which you support? What draws you to this cause?
I have been donating and supporting the United Way for many years now. I also recently donated and supported the 2016 JDRF Revolution Ride to Defeat Diabetes presented by Sun Life Financial for JDRF's research. I realized the benefits of donating time/money and raising funds for a nonprofit organization in that it provides me with a good feeling, because I know that I have done something that may save lives, or help others who are less fortunate.
