When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I had always wanted to be a Crime Investigation Officer with the Indian Police Services (IPS). I remember that as a teenager I was fascinated by their dare devilry, meticulous planning and instincts based logical decisions to resolve high profile criminal cases.
The element of "detectivism" and "undercover operations" intrigued me so much during my teenage years that I was helping friends and family as a volunteer detective; I had my share of successful cases :).
After completion of my engineering degree, I focused my professional career towards telecommunications & technology and I started to work towards bigger goals.
I am still an avid reader and follower of crime investigation reports and documentaries.
There are many compelling reasons to undertake an Executive MBA Program. What is your goal for the Telfer Executive MBA Program?
Though I have been successful in my technical profession, I realize that I need to take my career to another level. I know that I will need additional skill-sets in strategy, planning and execution in order to make decisions which are both technically innovative while also being business centric.
My family has been successful in business and often the topics of risk-taking and entrepreneurship are the topics at the breakfast table; I have been longing to nurture the budding entrepreneur in myself as well.
The more I plan out my short-term and long-term goals I feel a stronger desire and need for a
formal business education. However I desired a program of substance which would test me, have peers from a broad spectrum of industries and perspectives and it should also hold networking opportunities which can be forged into long-lasting personal relationships.
From a community perspective Sachin, is there any charitable organizations that you support? What draws you to this cause?
