Kevin, what was your dream job when you were growing up?
Like many young boys, when I grew up, I wanted to be a firefighter. However at the age of 9, I was diagnosed with severe Asthma and I realized that my dream of being a firefighter would not work out for me. With a sharp mind and a quick understanding of technology, I turned to computers and information technology. After many years of working in sales and support for several large organizations I changed my focus towards management and operations. The Telfer Executive MBA Program is full with experience. What are you looking forward to completing while in the Telfer Executive MBA Program?
I am most looking forward to completing the Signature Series of Six Business Consulting Projects. The experience that I will gain from working on these projects will further develop many of the skills that I already possess as well as enable me to learn and develop new ones. I am particularly looking forward to the International Business Consulting Project and Trip as all of my experience to-date has been within North America. I am excited to work with and learn about doing business on a global scale.
Kevin, is there any not-for profit organizations or clubs which you support? What draws you to this cause?
Last year my wife and I worked with two families who were selected to each have use of a sponsored garden box as a part of a newly built local community garden project. We worked with these families to select the vegetables that they wanted to grow, purchased the required plants and seeds and assisted the families to plant and maintain the garden boxes so that they could enjoy fresh produce throughout the summer. Having the opportunity to give back to the community that I grew up in is important to me and this experience was very rewarding.
