Pino is there a particular location that you have traveled to which you would highly recommend to others? Is there any particular advice on accommodations, attractions or local cuisine you can suggest?
After traveling to several destinations around the world, one of my continued favorite destinations for travel is still Italy. Albeit I am a bit biased since I am Italian, but Italy's picturesque landscape, ancient marbled structures, delicious food, aromatic wines and the artistic history caters to to my many different desires for wanting to travel.
If one does travel to Italy, they should definitely plan a stop in “Firenze” aka Florence. You can take a bus tour to Cinque Terre (Five Earths) to see a fantastic cliff-side village and taste some local “focaccia” bread and gelato. When I travel I normally stay at local bed & breakfast establishments to avoid the over-pricing of hotels. Bed and breakfast also allows for increased interaction with the local community to learn more about the area.
Choosing to complete an Executive MBA is a big consideration. After reviewing the various masters’ programs available, why did you choose to enroll in the Telfer Executive MBA Program?
I chose the Telfer Executive MBA Program because I have always had an ambition to learn more about both business and management. The Program at this point in my working life and career will allow me to continue to be practical and apply my learnings to real consulting projects. These projects most certainly will enhance my learning experience as opposed to the alternative methods of theoretical lectures and assignments. I believe this applied experience is essential for my personal growth and will further help me to create value for the organizations I work with in the future. Above this, I will also benefit through the knowledge gained by working with my cohort peers and the experienced teaching staff.
What qualities do you admire in a mentor? Do you have someone you consider a strong mentor in your own life?
What I most admire in a leader or mentor is their ability to continually strive to overcome adversity and push forward to success. These leaders show confidence in any situation or task and are not overwhelmed with the risks associated with these tasks even though risks do exist.
One of my strongest mentors is a friend of mine name Steve Stibbie, who is a self-employed entrepreneur. Through the ups-and-downs he always has a smile on his face and succeeds no matter what happens.
Steve executes on all of the things he says he will do and he will always say exactly what he means. There is not a challenge he isn’t willing to consider which is why I admire Steve as a mentor and a leader.
