Job Title
Director, Technical Services
HFI Pyrotechnics
Jamie Beaudry

Jamie, tell us about an interesting fact we do not know about you. Do you have a unique talent to disclose?

I would have to list sports as one of my unique talents.   I’ve always been naturally athletic and competitive which made sports a great fit in my life. I have actively participated in many sports throughout my life. These have included fencing, football, basketball, volleyball, skiing, baseball, hockey, and various martial arts.

In addition to just participating in sports it has also been a part of my educational background.  I spent fours years studying sports and recreation at both the college and university level. Sports has become a big part of who I have become as a person and it has taught me many valuable life lessons.

There are many compelling reasons to undertake an Executive MBA Program. What is your goal for the Telfer Executive MBA Program?

My main goal and reason for joining the Telfer Executive MBA Program is to support my lifelong goal of continuous growth and learning. I believe the Program will be an enriching experience with learning opportunities that will provide both personal and professional growth for me. Specifically, I’m really looking forward to add more of technical skills to compliment my current soft skills.  I am also eager to begin contributing to my new community and excited for the opportunity of becoming a student again.

What qualities do you admire in a mentor? Do you have someone you consider a strong mentor in your own life?

I really admire leaders that take the time and energy to grow those around them. As a result I have spent a significant part of my career focused on helping others with growth opportunities. Over the last few years I have helped mentor a colleague into a leadership position within one of my past teams. The process was incredibly rewarding for me personally and is now one of my favourite professional experiences. I look forward to creating more of these opportunities in the future.
