Thinking back to your adolescence was there a particular job you dreamed of doing when you grew up?

When I was young I wanted to be an architect like my Grandfather. I viewed his ability to physically build something from a concept in his mind as an amazing feat. While I still think that this is an incredible skill, as an adult I realized I had a passion for building people and this why I work at a university.

Choosing to complete an Executive MBA is a big consideration. After reviewing the various masters’ programs available, why did you choose to enroll in the Telfer Executive MBA Program?

As a Toronto resident I often get asked: “Why Telfer? “

Telfer Executive MBA offers a unique program that allows me to directly apply my work experience and classroom knowledge with the Signature Series of Six Business Consulting Projects. Given my current profession, the Program’s emphasis on teamwork was one of the major motivators for me to enroll. Basically, as a Toronto resident there is not a comparable MBA program for me locally.

Scott, what qualities do you admire in a mentor?

I have had several mentors throughout my life. Often these mentors have a very different personality from my own. This allows to me to receive feedback and understand myself from an opposing perspective. These leaders have always pushed me to be more than I am and taught me that there are no peaks only plateaus in life.
