Marie-Josée, What has been your craziest experience or most unique experience you have had while vacationing?
Nothing I have done in life amounts to what my spouse and I did in 2006 when we travelled 10,000 km on bicycle (the pedal kind) over the course of eight months. This journey took us from France to Kazakhstan. Through physical and mental hardship, frustration and the sheer ridiculousness of certain border crossings I learned the value of perseverance and the virtue of patience (sometimes the hard way). Those months on the road allowed me to connect with myself, my core values, and trust life and strangers. This trip opened a new path in my life: fearless.
The Telfer Executive MBA Program is full with experience. What are you looking forward to completing while in the Telfer Executive MBA Program?
I am looking forward to continue on the fearless life journey. Through the Program I wish to get better at what I already do well, develop new skills, but also face my shortcomings with eyes wide open. This is my opportunity to start on the path of self-accomplishment and professional growth. I am a hands-on learner and the Telfer Executive MBA Program with its Signature Series of Six Business Consulting Projects suits both my natural preferences and my desire to stretch.
MJ, is there any not-for profit organizations or clubs which you support? What draws you to this cause?
I support efforts of the Red Cross (here and abroad), human rights (Rainbow Railway) and environmental (Green Peace) organizations. There is nothing more important to me than helping someone in need, saving a life, and making efforts to protect the environment. All of these causes that are close to my heart are humanitarian at their core. I cannot change the world on my own, therefore I assist those that contribute to changing it.
