Members of the Telfer Executive MBA Class of 2018 received their degree on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

Telfer Executive MBA candidates and family members celebrated together at the Chateau Laurier prior to joining the rest of the Telfer School’s graduates at the Shaw Centre for the official ceremony.  The community of graduates, families, staff and faculty It celebrated the grand achievement of the 31 members of the graduating Telfer Executive MBA's class of 2018.  They have spent the last 21 months working hard work, dedicating themselves to advancing their leadership, growth through knowledge and self-reflection. Graduates congratulated each other, introduced their extended families and posed for photos for keepsakes.

Toward the end of the event Sophia Leong, Executive Director of the Telfer Executive MBA, provided her own congratulations and praise to the graduates.

"What you went through these past 21 months is just the beginning of your evolution. The most compelling changes are coming, your learning, your development and your growth have just started. Your alumni journey will be a different journey, where you need to be the catalyst. At the end of the day, each and every one of you are positioned to do phenomenal things, but only you can do it.  You need to go and get it. The alumni community will be here to help you along the way, including me as a fellow alumnus, but you need to position yourself based on your leadership, actions, behaviours and preferences."

The Class of 2018 continued the Telfer Executive MBA tradition. Class President, Diana Prenoveau, presented a gift to the program representing the cohort and the country of their final International Trip experience. Sophia Leong accepted the framed silk embroidered artwork as Diana explained it's origins. The piece originates from a vocational training workshop for the disabled people of Vietnam. Diana and a few of her peers visited the workshop and were able to meet the artist behind this gift who is living with a disability and who benefits from this program.  The gift will be hanged in the Centre for Executive Leadership as to remind candidates of their goals and continue to inspire current and future cohorts of the program.

The official Convocation ceremony kicked off at 2:30 p.m. and the celebrations continued for many with family for dinner and drinks.

Congratulations to our newly minted Executive MBA graduates.
