Congratulations to Pino Dicorato, EMBA 2016, on his new role as Optics Consulting Engineer (Business Development) at Nokia.
“I have been in a research and development profession at various companies over many years. I have enjoyed learning and working on engineering designs within the telecommunications field.
Several years ago, I made a decision to change my career and learn more about leadership, management and business. I discovered that I could use my technical expertise over the years to add value to organizations in an more profit-driven way, but I also discovered that I lacked some of the mindset, experience and the structure in approaching business problems. The Telfer Executive MBA provided all of these facets for me, through engaging and working with various companies in the six consulting projects, as well as in participating in all of the class discussions through very relevant, and current topics affecting today's economy. I learned how to create, analyze, and impact a companies strategy, identify different levels of business risks, conduct market research, and understand how to really establish and foster high performance teams while also building an ethical consulting relationship with your client.
The Telfer Executive MBA program truly increased my confidence. It made me believe that I am capable of whatever I set my mind to do. After the program ended, my mind was ready and I was more than prepared to leave my engineering profession. I took the opportunity to move to a business consulting group at one of the worlds largest telecommunications company (Nokia) and during the interviews, the management team were impressed in the breadth of business experiences that I had achieved in such a short period of time. In this new role, I will exercise both of my technical and business experiences to add value to both the customers and the business organization.
I look forward in leveraging the analytical skills I learned from the program to recommend as well as contribute to future solutions within the Optical Transport & IP business segment and grow Nokia's revenue base.”
We wish Pino great success in his new job at Nokia.
