Natalie Lam is an adjunct professor of human resource management with the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. She has taught MBA and undergraduate courses in organizational behaviour, human resource management, management skills (conflict resolution, effective communication and feedback, team building, delegation, coaching, negotiation, managing diversity), and seminars in performance management, staffing, training, international human resource management, motivation, organizational change and development, and organizational communication.

She has extensive consulting experience, with organizations such as the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the Canadian Centre for Management Development (CCMD), Nortel, the Institute of Canadian Bankers, the Canadian Police College, the Centre for Research and Education on Women and Work (CREWW), the National Capital Commission (NCC), the National Arts Centre (NAC), the federal government, the U.S. Department of Labor, and others. She has acted as facilitator and discussion leader in career development, effective communication, and team building sessions, as well as for focus groups on public health issues. She has international experience in areas of program evaluation, management training for women, and women in development. She has offered training courses for industry and government, in areas such as human resource management, interpersonal communication skills, interviewing and counselling skills for managers, and strategic and operational communications planning. Her research interests are in career management and development, alternative work arrangements, women in management, and organizational and human resource issues related to operations management.
