Mr. Michel specializes in the field of strategic planning and execution. He is currently in charge of corporate strategy and planning at VIA Rail, the national passenger transportation company, a Canadian Crown corporation.
Executive in Residence at the Telfer School of Management, Mr. Michel’s areas of specialization are strategy and organizational performance management. He teaches to MBA students and is also involved with the Center for Executive Leadership. He sits on Telfer’s Advisory Board and supervises MBA projects.
Mr. Michel leverages his expertise acquired as practitioner, management consultant, professor and mentor, to develop the abilities of current and future managers to ensure optimal strategy definition and implementation, as well as adequate strategy execution monitoring. The organizations he has collaborated with in the past include Bombardier, Delphi Corporation, Rona, Yellow Pages, the House of Commons, the Federal Department of Justice and the City of Montréal.
Mr. Michel holds a M.B.A. from University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management and an engineering degree from ITECH in France. Respectively in 2012 and 2008, he received the Young Achiever's award from Telfer School of Management and the Quebec MBA Association’s award in the Consulting category.
