*** Please note - This session is open to MSc and PhD students at Telfer, however the discussion will be directed towards the PhD experience.

Preparing for your first academic job: Prof. Mark Freel, Vice Dean (Faculty), will reflect on his experiences leading the School of Management’s faculty hiring and on his broader experience of hiring processes in Europe and North America. He will talk about how PhD students can prepare themselves, emphasizing how early this process starts, and how good positioning can be the difference between getting an invitation to a campus visit or not. Mark will also talk about the importance of networks and networking in the positioning and search processes.
